About
Welcome to Little Italy - United Kingdom, a delightful dining destination nestled in the charming town of Spilsby. Conveniently located at 12 Market St, Spilsby PE23 5JT, United Kingdom, this eatery promises an authentic taste of Italy with a British twist. As a food reviewer for Menu Buzz, I was eager to explore the culinary offerings and ambiance of this hidden gem.
From the moment you step inside, you’ll discover that Little Italy is larger than it appears, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages diners to linger a bit longer. The restaurant's recent refurbishment has enhanced its charm, creating a lovely backdrop for any meal. Customers have praised the atmosphere, noting it as a perfect setting for both intimate dinners and bustling gatherings.
The menu at Little Italy showcases a variety of Italian classics, and guests have consistently highlighted the generous portion sizes and delightful flavors. David Law noted the surprising affordability of the dishes, stating that the food was “perfectly fine,” making it a great value for those looking to enjoy an Italian meal without breaking the bank.
However, service has seen a mix of reviews. For instance, while Mark Sumner-Wilson enjoyed the friendly demeanor of the staff and even received a thoughtful yellow rose for his partner, others like Bex Vickers expressed concerns over slower service during peak hours. It’s clear that the staff are still finding their footing amidst the restaurant's popularity.
Despite these hiccups, patrons such as Bonny Smith have shared glowing recommendations, especially post-refurbishment, praising the polite servers and the overall dining experience. The pre-ordering option seems to be a hit, allowing for a more seamless meal service. This attention to customer feedback highlights the restaurant's commitment to improvement.
In terms of culinary offerings, you can expect a variety of traditional dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. Adam Squires pointed out the deliciousness of the food, with a particular mention of the nicely cooked sea bass, though he noted some opportunities for improvement in dish customization. Such feedback demonstrates the restaurant’s potential for refining the dining experience, ensuring that preferences are considered and catered to.
Overall, Little Italy - United Kingdom stands out for its welcoming ambiance, flavorful dishes, and a commitment to becoming a dining staple in Spilsby. It’s a place where you can indulge in Italian flavors without overwhelming your wallet. As I left the restaurant, I couldn’t help but feel excited about the prospect of my next visit, eager to see how they evolve and refine their offerings. If you're looking for a taste of Italy in a cozy UK setting, Little Italy is definitely worth a stop.
“ Very nice food and much better service than previous visit, only dropping a star as we weren't asked whether we would prefer chips or pasta with main course and although the chips were very nice, pasta would definitely have been preferred. Also no salad/pasta with the sea bass, which I found odd. Otherwise, very good. ”
“ This is a hidden gem in Spilsby. Had another lovely meal here. We preordered which was handy. Since the new owners took over it's been refurbished and now has a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very good and polite. We've booked for next week. Thoroughly recommended ”
“ First visit, quite busy, quite nice surroundings, larger inside than it looks. No issues, staff were fine but a little inexperienced. Surprisingly inexpensive. The food was perfectly fine. The place represents very good value and I'll visit again. ”
“ We had a very enjoyable meal for 2 last night. The restaurant was busy, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The portions were large, there was a good menu and the food was very tasty. The place had a nice ambience and my partner was even given a yellow rose as we left. A very nice touch. ”
“ Food is nice. Service isn't great. Not sure if it's because they're so busy but second time going and second time we've had food forgotten. 1.5 HR wait for mains and 30mins plus for dessert. All in all, we was there 3 hours and left without having 3 of our desserts. Staff aren't greatly fussed but I don't know if that because of so many complaints from different tables and got fed up of being moaned at. ”
